How to Kill a Cactus (2012) (formerly titled "Miss Hannah Comes Back")

Cathy tries hard to fit in in the small Mississippi town where Paula, her partner, grew up, but can't adjust to Southern ways and friendliness. Focusing all of her loneliness and misery on a mystical old oak tree in their backyard, she gladly cuts it down when it suddenly – and suspiciously – dies. But when the entire town starts to die, Cathy must sacrifice herself to atone for her mistakes, revive the town, and bring Paula back to her.

Two women face the limits of love and friendship in this hard-hitting drama about painful self-deception and the unbearable burden of having harmed their own sons.

The Cougar in the Coffeehouse (2010)

When Aaron tells Claire he wants her to be his cougar, he tries reverse psychology to get her to agree. But she turns the tables on him in this romp through desire, uncertainty, and a little sexually charged torture.

The Platinum Crucible (2010)

Four cousins vie for their grandfather's platinum crucible, each seeing it as a symbol of their success in life. Over a weekend spent at the house they just inherited from their aunt, as they politely discuss who should get the crucible, their conflicting ambitions erupt in arguments, old scores to settle, and new racial tensions. Everything could be lost when they find out that their aunt may have had a daughter who would inherit everything.

No More Than Reason (2009)

Backstage during a performance of "Much Ado About Nothing," 50-something Daniel (playing Benedick) tells his long-time, 50-something friend Liz (playing Beatrice), that he loves her. She tells him he's wrong, and a Shakespearean battle of wits ensues.
